Announcing Acumen's Funding Round

Nevo Alva
CEO

Since day one, Acumen has been focused on solving the pain of virtually every engineering leader of a growing organization: “Seems like the more developers we add, the slower and less efficient we become.”

That’s why I’m excited to announce Acumen’s recent $7 million funding round. You can check out the coverage in TechCrunch here

We’re fortunate to have the support of a fantastic roster of investors: Hetz, 10D, Crescendo, and Jibe. And we’re grateful for the ongoing partnership of world-class customers like Logz.io, Bizzabo, and Rookout.

And now the $7 million question: how are we planning to use the money?

One of the things I learned from building my last company was the importance of obsessive focus on our users: understanding their pain points and always looking for ways to make their lives easier.

It seems simple, but a lot of companies lose track of it on their path to hypergrowth.

We’re focused on a few key initiatives in line with this north star:

  • Continuing investment in R&D: Acumen is pushing the frontier of how machine learning can be harnessed to help dev teams avoid risks, make better decisions, and continuously improve. This is a tough problem, but we've seen firsthand how powerful the results are when we can unlock these insights for dev teams. Our plan is to continue doubling down on using data to deliver useful insights and recommendations that simplify life and improve dev outcomes for our users.
  • Expanding our product: Since launching in beta, we’ve gotten a flood of feedback on new challenges to address. For example: how can dev team data be harnessed for more accurate estimations? Over the coming months, you can expect to see us tackling the many obstacles that block dev teams from doing their best work.
  • Building a community: Our conversations with engineering teams have convinced us that there’s a real, unaddressed need for a space for devs to talk honestly about the challenges we face. We touched on some of these challenges here. But we want to go further and explore what a community that brings together dev teams around shared issues (like remote work challenges, alignment and motivation, and building a blameless engineering culture) might look like. Keep an eye out for more.

As you can see, we’ve got some big goals ahead of us. And we’re growing fast. You can see some of our open positions here. Even if you don’t see anything that’s a fit, feel free to get in touch – we’d love to hear from you.

The recent funding round is a testament to the hard work and passion of the Acumen team. It’s a team that I wake up energized to be a part of every day.

Here’s to building great things together.
